SLS is also known as Sodium lauryl sulfate, Sodium laureth sulfate, or acetyl Sodium sulfate. SLS will be subject to sulphites. It is in the majority of the shampoos and ensures that these foams, and that the cleansing shampoo. And those are the things we look for in a shampoo; but SLS also has a lot of adverse effects on your hair! The main reason it is used is because it is very cheap, not because it is good.
SLS is actually in almost any (cheap) product that needs considerable foam, for example bubble bath. But not only in cosmetics, it is also in aggressive polishes, polish to bring your floor clean or degrease your engine. Check out the labels and look for SLS or SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulfate). Chances are you will encounter in the products that you are never on your skin or hair would rub …
So if it is in polish, why SLS is thus in Shampoo? Well, because it is cheap. Just take a look at the popular shampoos and you get it everywhere.
